Nashville Celtic Rock Band Coming to the Alley

Nashville Celtic Rock Band Coming to the Alley

Nashville Celtic rock band Molly Ramone will come to West Tennessee on Thursday, May 17, when singer/songwriter Mark Harriman and Joe Khoury will perform at Arts in the Alley in downtown Henderson. Beginning at 6 p.m., the event will be hosted by the Henderson Arts Commission in the alley off Main Street beside Frix-Jennings Clinic.

Originally from Leiceister, England, Harriman came to America in 1995 when he signed to Gravelsauce Records. Since then he has established himself as an integral part of the Nashville music scene. Khoury plays lead guitar and mandolin and sings backing vocals. He is a prominent session player and music producer in Nashville.

Regularly featured at both the Opryland Hotel and on Music Row, Molly Ramone has a delightful way of encouraging audiences to join the excitement by clapping or singing along to both traditional Irish ballads and newer Celtic rock music.

Musicians unite to "Play for Trey"

(WMC-TV) – Mid-South musicians are rallying around a Collierville teenager who’s been diagnosed with cancer.

Doctors recently told Trey Erwin, a 15-year-old Collierville High School student, that he has adult pancreatic adenocarcinoma. There is no cure for the disease and doctors have only given Trey a year to live.

But the unfortunate prognosis isn’t keeping the community from supporting the teen and his family. Earlier this year, Trey’s story made headlines when his teammates on the Collierville football team managed to get the hashtag “PrayforTrey” trending in Memphis.

Women—it is time to prioritize your health! As part of National Women’s Health Week (May 13-18, 2012), Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region is urging women in the Mid-South to schedule preventive checkups, including breast cancer screenings, pelvic exams, and, if recommended, a Pap test.

“The health of women affects our families, our partners, and our communities,” said Tarsha Elliott, RN, BSN, Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region’s Director of Clinic Services. “As we honor our mothers this week, we should also take the time to encourage them, and all the women in our lives, to schedule the regular checkups they need to live longer, healthier and happier lives.”

Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region offers a wide range of preventive health services, including lifesaving cancer screenings, birth control, diagnosis and treatment of precancerous cervical conditions, breast exams, the HPV vaccine and STD testing and treatment.
