Olympic gold medalist sets up shop in Collierville | Business
She is known for the gold medal she earned in Atlanta, and the silver medal she brought home from Barcelona. But now, Olympian Rochelle Stevens is hitting the ground running in a different way -- in Collierville.
Stevens opened her business, “Rochelle Health & Wellness”, with her mother in Memphis 14 years ago, when she was training for the 1992 Summer Olympics.
The spa, inspired by the mother-daughter duo’s trip to France, will open at its new location on Poplar View Lane this weekend.
“We were getting pampered every day at the spa,” Rochelle Stevens told The Collierville Herald. “And I said, ‘Wow, this is a nice business to have one day.’”
That day came and now, her business will serve a new clientele in Collierville.
“So, once I retired (from running) we tried to mimic what we saw all over France like Monte Carlo. Nice and kind of bring that setting to Memphis and Collierville,” said Stevens.
Rochelle Health & Wellness offers treatments like body wraps, which you would typically find in a spa. But it also offers another service, unique to the business of an Olympian.
“Our slogan is, ‘Look good as gold,’” said Stevens, who will also be offering nutrition counseling and personal training.
A grand opening will be held for Rochelle Health & Wellness on Saturday, December 8, at 11 a.m. at the new location, 319 Poplar View Lane, Suite 2, in Collierville.
