Three Mid-South cheerleading teams are national champions after much practice, and a lengthy competition.

Houston Middle School, Collierville High School, and Dyer County High School all won first place in their respective divisions during the Universal Cheerleading Association's competition in Orlando.

They will all be bringing home white jackets, medals and trophies.

The competition lasted over the weekend with dozens of teams competing.

Other teams in the Mid-South competed including Southaven High School.

Houston Middle School placed first against several other teams in the Large Junior High division.

Dyer County High Coed lead the way in Super Varsity Coed. Collierville High School Coed placed in the Small Coed Cheer Team division.

UCA is the most prestigious cheerleading championship in the country.

Their goal is to inspire leadership on and off the field.
